What We Love About Witch Camp
Below are highlights of the positive experiences different campers have had at Witch Camp. As you can see, there is a wide variety of opinions regarding what the "best" things at camp are! It is also important to know that, for some, their experiences at camp are beyond words or too private to share, but equally profound.

- Culture of like minded people where you can be yourself
- A feeling of real community, of what it would be like if we could live in a more spiritually focused world. To experience that, to remember what we are working for, and what is possible.
- Seeing over 100 people proud to call themselves Witches; whose faces shine with love for the Earth; whose spirits are willing to soar and transform and dance to work change and magic.
- Overflowing abundance of love and appreciation. (There's more love per square foot than anyplace else we've found on the planet.)
- Atmosphere that permits people to dress (or not) as they wish
- Celebration of the diversity of people
- Great way to make friends who share the same spirituality. Meeting best friends and witches
- Fellowship with friends from past camps
- Discovering for the first time what it's like to live in a non-patriarchal, non-judgmental society
- The Shining Ones who attend - somehow, Spiralheart seems to attract the very best of the best -- diverse, bright, funny, solemn, extremely gifted, beautiful souls.
- Great camper loyalty. A core group of people come back every year, and even more keep in touch in some way.
- Activities to keep in touch during the year, too, so camp is not just in a vacuum.

- Focus on nothing but our spirituality for an entire week; especially important is that we're there without distractions like cell phones, TV, or computers.
- Awesome large scale group rituals with folks who know what they're doing (or are willing to launch and ride the wave)
- The intense evening rituals every evening with a unified expanding theme during the whole camp.
- Great ritual space. There's often lots of dancing, so the large dance pavilion is perfect for rituals.
- Learn how to move and move with energy
- Learning magical techniques to use all the following year.
- Opening our eyes to new aspects of earth-based spirituality--the playfulness, the drumming, the meditation, and so forth.
- Opportunity to learn in chosen paths
- Lines of power, like ley lines, that had been woven by Spiralheart, in all our workings over the years. Those shining lines, like criss-crossed golden laser beams, remain like a web throughout the Camp, and are as real as the lake or the sky. The land moves and lives all through and around them, and they are unbelievably beautiful.
- Touching Mystery
- Finding determination to live a more spiritual life.
- Development of psychic skills
- Being touched by Oracles at expected and unexpected moments
- Mumming and sacred drama

- Healthy and satisfying meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner with ominvorous, vegetarian and vegan options.
- Great setting, in the mountains of West Virginia, with lovely hiking and owls at night.
- Housing options of camping, sharing a room at the mansion or the barn.
- No daily cleanup of your own cooking mess, since all cooking is done for us
- The teachers and organizers are very dedicated. They have to be, because the pay is not enough to be a motivating factor! The work is part of their spiritual growth, and that is why they do the work they do, and it definitely shows.
- Spiralheart is focused, clean and sober, and of clear intention. The teachers are carefully chosen, their offerings meet a rigorous standard of integrity. Therefore, the resulting experience is distilled, trustworthy, powerful Magick that is juicy, alive, and lasts far beyond the week itself.
- the beauty of the people, the site, the lake, and Nature.
- The lack of noise late at night. (SpiralHeart camp and probably most Witch Camps, get you pretty tired by the end of ritual.)
- Strong emphasis is placed on co-creation of camp, and there is ample opportunity to get involved and be a part of the making of camp.
- With some gatherings, just when you start to get the hang of how things work, who is who, and that feeling of settling into your space, it's over and time to go home. Spiralheart Witch Camp is long, slow, juicy, delicious.
- Structure is balanced with flexibility within the camp schedule

- Pathwork that grabs us by the tail and works us for the whole year (whether we want it to or not)
- Discovering things about ourselves that we need to know
- Learning to choose better personal boundaries, along with opportunities to push one's own self-imposed boundaries and shake up firmly entrenched inhibitions.
- Stepping beyond our own limits and limitations
- Seeing different genders, and gender roles, in a whole different way.
- Learning about consensus group process
- Developing leadership skills
- Being deeply changed and with a year's worth of lessons to continue learning; with powerful work still to be done; with deep paths to explore until next year.

- A whole attitude of camp which encourages us to bloom and flower into greater awareness of our own inner resources and creativity. Rejuvenation of the Spirit
- Safe and supportive structure and consciousness about energy flow.
- A drug and alcohol free camp, which makes it easier for people in recovery to attend, and also helps the campers be more present to the group energy.
- Peace & Tranquility
- Joy
- feeling stimulated and energized all day
- Plenty of exercise from walking around the grounds (grin)
- An all over suntan
- An embarrassment of riches for every mood, every taste - laughter and fun; music; dance; art; delicious diversity of sexuality; aloneness or intimacy; letting go, jumping in... there is time and space for any and all, and what a great gift it is for a little while to be able to take all you need.
- Slowing down, being more awake and aware. The texture of sound, the smell of color, the love that shines from all of us to one another, the opening of every chakra in our body of light-- unfoldings unreplicated anywhere else we know.
- Knowing that the world is a better place, as the ripples from Witch Camp spread out from us every year. We are working Big Magic into a world that desperately needs us. And every year is another heartbeat in the living Being that sends out that love and healing.
